This summer, sophomore Nichol Humphery was selected to participate in the 2021 Duke Pre-College Three-Week Online Program. Admission to the program was selective as candidates were chosen from an international pool of applicants based upon the strength of their transcript, essay, and résumé. An impressive body of talent was carefully selected and supported as they engaged in rich peer exchanges, propelled one another’s intellectual curiosity, and intensified their academic explorations in class.
Don Donelson, J.D., was Nichol's instructor. During class he led Nichol and her peers through the exploration of theoretical foundations of law and its applications, the Fourth Amendment, and the evolution of judicial interpretations. She leveraged what she learned to create and pitch policy specifically crafted to improve communities of interest.
